How Tantra can help a person enjoy life to the fullest: a closer look at some of its principles.

In most mainstream religious traditions, sex has been regarded as an obstacle to spiritual progress, something to be overcome and transcended. Earthly desires are seen as sinful, and sexual restraint- even celibacy- is thought by many to hold the key to spiritual knowledge and experience. However, there are two eastern paths with a refreshingly different perspective. Tantra and Tao both take the approach that one should not only not reject the body and its desires, but actually embrace them on t… Continue

Tantra Musings

Tantra is often difficult to define and pin down, but at its core it seeks to connect and break down barriers falsely set up to keep human beings apart. It seeks to develop universal consciousness, where one feels and knows they are at one with themselves, or others. In terms of sex,sex is deemed sacred in Tantra, thus loving, intimate relationships, reinforcing interconnectedness and intimacy, of course , form a fundamental basis. Sex in the true Tantric sense is not sex for the sake of sex (… Continue

The 8th House: Sexuality in Tantra

Sexuality in Tantra is just one way of getting transformation and liberation of oneself (www.tantra.com). Sexual energy can ignite the kundalini force( the body's biological life force in Hindu chakra thought system, coiled like a snake at the base of the spine). This energy when released via many different methods ( chakra healing , meditation etc), is transmuted constructively, higher and deeper, as the "cosmic union of opposites , to create the polarity change, or potential that connects wi… Continue

Middle eastern dance- a quote

"Bellydancing is an ecstatic celebration of feminine ( and masculine - my addition) power, creativity and sexual energy.......sensual, snaky actions mimic orgasm and the breath as a powerful force moving through the body, with the muscular movements grounding to the earth, and the spinning hands reaching to the sky, connecting earth and sky. ... Also the pelvic motions mimic the birthing process, connecting you to the source of all life" ( Judy Kuriansky quoting tantradance.com, from the Compl… Continue

The 8th House: Sex, Spirituality and Tantra , An Introduction by ZoraidaGitana

1. Some years ago, as part of my on going journey with Middle Eastern and Flamenco dance and dance teacher training, I studied some elements of complementary medicine ( e.g Chakra healing, alternative healing for women's health) some aspects of Tantra, which I'd like to share with you, and to explode the myths of what it is and is not- as many ideas transported from the East, be it yoga or bellydance, have often been subject to Western misunderstanding or lack of context. Here I can speak more… Continue

Hi ZoraidaGitana!

Thank you for joining Horary Powers!
It's great to have you here.

What I do is, I ask a question. A firm question. And then I look at the time I ask. Go to astro.com to cast a chart (house system must be set to Rig) then I try to intepret it if the moon is not void of course or in cancer.

Hope this helps! It could get highly complex and I'm glad there is a support system for it. Let me know if there's anything else! It's great.
:)
