My Cancer Ascendant (on Sirius Star) is the midpoint of my Sun and Moon. I really can't think of it as an affliction. The flipside of having that shyness is also having a bit of emotional armor for those times when things get rough and we need to be strong to protect our families and friends!

well i think the hourglass shape is more for the girls then the guys..but cancer rules the chest so i could see where the barrelchest comes in for guys..i have a gemini friend with cancer rising, a virgo friend with cancer rising and an aries friend with cancer rising..and all of us have similar clothes and dress alike! lol we never plan it either it's so weird! my ascendant is currently progressed in leo. and even though im outgoing i still have trouble in groups, its gotten better but i still have to work at it. im a hairstylist so i have to do alot of one on one with clients and i enjoy and think im good at that, my cancer ascendant helps me be intuitive about what to talk about and what to avoid with each person..ex what they need to hear, or want to talk about..

@ aquacrab, I don't find having cancer rising to be a emotional affliction. It's just something we have that makes us cool.

@Cristal---I dont usually meet cancer risings but I get along sooo well with other cancer suns.. I think cancers tend to stick together... but I have the round face and the hips to prove it!

Hello fellow Cancer Risings.

As a male, I can't say my hips have ever been a problem. :-/ My build is slim and my face is a combination of round in some areas, angular in others. I've had a beard for a long time to get rid of the roundness, which I think projects a weak image. I think Cancer Rising is more of an emotional placement, and jjjohanna has given a pretty accurate description of how I am--except for the hospitals--I don't mind hospitals.

For me, Cancer Rising is an emotional affliction which I struggle to overcome. It's a really odd kind of shyness though. I have no problem singing and playing guitar in front of people, but trying to mingle with strangers, I'm a duck out of water--I feel like:

a) I am unworthy and no one would actually want to actually talk to me, and

b) small talk is such a waste of my energy--it's exhausting, boring and uncomfortable, and I just want to leave.

I can work all day at a desk and get things done, but put me in a meeting for an hour and I'm wiped out. :-/

I have round eyes, short legs, hips are average.. round face..
and i'm quite shy until i'm comfortable with you lol

Im painfully sensitive to environment and even a small amount of stress frustrates me. I dont like hospitals, official functions, social gatherings, being exposed... I´d rather disappear:). I prefere one-to-one encounters and small groups. In big groups I can remain invisible. On the other hand, among my friends and people I trust I can be really outgoing.
I dont have a round face, but high cheekbones and a rather strange facial structure (being cappy by sun sign). Was quite skinny as child, but Ive gained nice curves over time. No huge hips though:)

I've noticed with Cancer Rising that my body size has changed a lot, much like the moon. But I've always been kinda barrel-chested, with slim hips and short legs. With a big head and round eyes. So I would say all of that fits Cancer Rising.

so all the cancer risings i know including myself :) have prettyfaces and big hips!!! ive always had an hour glass shape and so do all my cancerrising girlfriends..also i think im very sensitive to my environment and people..does anyone else get certain vibes from people??
