JUPITER CONJUNCT NEPTUNE AND CHIRON!.. WORTH LOOKING INTO AND DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT! I ASK THAT THIS DISCUSSION BE OPENED TO REPLIES AGAIN.

TBR News – April 5, 2009

Recognizing the potential danger to their plans and activities, “ For a long time, the control of the American media was in the hands of a small group of publishers and advertisers and with most news filtered through the Associated Press, controlling public opinion was quite an easy task. Then came the Internet. Now, with anyone able to not only access the Internet, anyone else is able to post what they wish, when they wish. As a result, the balance of news reporting has shifted and control is very rapidly passing from a few hands into many. Recognizing the potential danger to their plans and activities, Congress as well as the business community is frantically searching for a way to be able to shut the Internet off when and as they choose. To accomplish this, Senators John Rockefeller (D-W. Va.) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) have just introduced a bill to establish the Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor—an arm of the executive branch that would have vast power to monitor and control Internet traffic” to protect against threats to critical cyber infrastructure”

The so-called Cybersecurity Act of 2009 would give the president the ability to "declare a cybersecurity emergency" and shut down or limit Internet traffic in any "critical" information network "in the interest of national security." The bill does not define a critical information network or a cybersecurity emergency. That definition would be left to the president.

The bill does not only add to the power of the president. It also grants the Secretary of Commerce "access to all relevant data concerning [critical] networks without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule, or policy restricting such access." This means he or she can monitor or access any data on private or public networks without regard to privacy laws.

The bill could undermine the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA. That law, enacted in the mid '80s, requires law enforcement seek a warrant before tapping in to data transmissions between computers.

Such bills rarely are passed, other than in times of real, or perceived, emergencies and at present, a number of official American agencies routinely conduct totally warrantless-searches of computer mail, telephone and cell telephone messaging and, of course, the failing USPS where mail snooping is a regular practice. There is very little that can be done about this since the worthless Bush instituted a full program following the very convenient 9/11 attacks and once agencies have the unfettered opportunity of snooping on potential enemies of their own agency and the government itself, they will not readily surrender their surreptious powers. “

Oh, poor fallen star BOO HO HO
get ur ass back in entertaiment and leave politics ASAP!!
I don't think you understand how grave this is..
You're absolutely right: it's life & death important. Complacency kills. Right now in the Obama-post-Bush phase of ecstatic relief it's probably most important of all to at least stay partly alert. As you're pointing out, this would be a prime time to slip in some tricky schemes, while the public is still at a long TGIF party.
Just the idea that the president would have the right to block the Net...! We wouldn't have the right to communicate like this -- be it for the purpose of staying awake in the world or unearthing secrets about Scorpios or Virgo S/M potential or Nodes, karma, fate & compatibility, etc.
Yeah, it matters.
YES! Bush using 'war on terror' as an excuse to tap telephone calls should be enough proof for people to realize that innocently standing by while something we ALL knew and felt was wrong in the beginning was happening, is no longer acceptable!

we spent 8 years waiting.. and waiting.. and waiting... with no results. yeah, some guns were found in an underground cave in abandoned mountains.. 'mass destruction' is right.

it started off as a little offense in hopes of strengthening our defense and look at what it turned into. a GLOBAL CRISIS!!!!

just as easily as they would be able to attain our information without our permission if we don't act now, they can then control what websites and information we have access to depending on what they feel is in their best interest.

if this is passed, just imagine what can happen if our talks with Cuba and Russia go awry.. they can (and more than likely would in such a scenario) restrict access from ANY website affiliated or based in either country.

and once they see that they're capable of doing that, the possibilities are then endless! they can then justify controlling imports and exports which would then corner everyone ONCE AGAIN to do exactly as they wish!

right now, we have the ability to speak out and fight for what we want! we elected him and we need to keep his as$ in check and remind them that THEY work for US!

the entire world supported him into office and they all look to us for support. America has been the center of the everything for a while now and people learned to rely on us. BOOM! we're screwed and now, so are they.

someone has to pick up the pieces and it is in our best interest as well as theirs to turn the TV off and stop eating sh!t and DO SOMETHING about it!

we owe it to ourselves, the world, the soldiers that are STILL in Iraq and Afghan. and the many more that are preparing to be shipped out as we speak.. --not to mention the children, wives, babies and parents that lost a father, mother, sibling or a loved due to not enough of us fighting for what we beieved in!

I really hope that you guys understand how grave this is and how much your support is needed! STOP TURNING THE OTHER CHEEK! that 'jesus' play only works in civilized regions.. in case you haven't noticed, we're at the point where we might as well be considered barbrians!
I don't know why exactly but something about this time now, with ob-ama having been elected - microcosm/macrocosm sort of thing - is making me flash back to what I learned when I had Pluto transiting my Sun in the 12th house.

Pluto got to my Sun --> the shit hit the fan big time, and I scrambled to find my ground again - found it, felt relieved; relaxed, thinking I'd gone through it. But then it happened again...and again...and again...each hit possibly harder than the previous...until I realized there is no guarantee that apparent relief really is what it seems. To be ready for whatever comes next - without being paranoid or feeling like a miserable victim - because we just don't know what's going to come next. It might be good. It might be great. But, it could also be the realization that when we thought the horror had peaked, it was actually only the beginning.

It's amazing & inspiring that this gorgeous, intelligent and seemingly compassionate and wise man was elected, and I sincerely hope he'll meet even half or a quarter of the world's hopes.

But we don't know.

Maybe it seems paranoid to imagine that the world really could become a place of no privacy - medical chips and whatever implanted wherever, whenever, however; reality TV shows making what used to be considered invasion of privacy seem normal and fun. But really - we should at least be willing to consider that seemingly impossible loss of rights & freedom as an actual possibility - without freaking out or panicking - and like you said, as long as we do have the right to speak out, it's a precious gift we shouldn't waste.

right now, we have the ability to speak out and fight for what we want! we elected him and we need to keep his as$ in check and remind them that THEY work for US!

we owe it to ourselves, the world, the soldiers that are STILL in Iraq and Afghan. and the many more that are preparing to be shipped out as we speak.. --not to mention the children, wives, babies and parents that lost a father, mother, sibling or a loved due to not enough of us fighting for what we beieved in!

So - what can anyone do? Where & how does one take action? How do we begin?
1. Write a civil letter to your representative and your senators. (TO BOTH OFFICES! see letter sample below.)

2. Write a civil letter to Eric Holder and the Dept. Of Justice reminding them that they HAVE to get their sh!t together and defend the constitutional rights of the American Citizenry!

3. Write a civil letter to the American Civil Liberties Union... add a check for membership dues (only if you'd like to though.. I know a lot of u motherf*ckers are broke!) and join... ask them to take this on with EVERY FIBER OF THEIR BEINGS!

www.ACLU.org/join

(is it too much work? ..decide! u either do something about it NOW, or sit back and complain about it 8 years later once the sh!t has already hit the fan.. and trust me, if u don't move now... sh!t WILL hit the fan!)

4. Write to the New York Times, L.A. Times and The Washington Post.

Then send copies of those letters to whichever papers are left in Chicago, Dallas, San Fransisco, Seattle, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolia, Virginia, Maryland...basically, SEND IT ANYWHERE ELSE U CAN FUCK!N THINK OF! hell, write it on the bathroom stalls if u have to! Remember to keep it simple.

5. STOP TWITTERING USELESS SH!T AND EDUCATE YOURSELVES! Join a blog like Huffington Post and write an article or write these ideas in blog comments or post it on ur friends profles.. spread the word!

If 3 Bajillion of us voted for Change, 3 Bajillion of us can make sure that Change takes place!

6. Keep the pressure on EVERY WEEK! This has to be a weekly thing! u HAVE to spread the word!!!

WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!

Now.. onto the letter. (if ur not up for it, feel free to just literally copy and paste the entire thing and just insert ur name between the parentheses.)

" To my valued senator (or representative.)

I am writing with urgent concern over the recent action taken by the Obama administration regarding the warrantless wiretapping by the Bush administration during the so-called 'war on terror'. Though it is traditional for the executive branch to retain their powers, we have had 8 years of their expansion opposing the detriment of our civil liberties and freedom.

We had all hoped that those dangerous, almost lawless expansion days were behind us but this weeks claim by the Obama administration; that the governments legal argument for immunizing Bush's administration (and government agencies) from lawsuits surrounding the National Security eavesdropping, should actually be expanded, proved to us otherwise. The sovereign immunity claim smacks the Kings we as a nation broke our ties with as we founded her.

Georgetown University Law Professor Jonathan Turley explains it best when he says that what the administration claims is a "breathtaking claim that leaves citizens with a right without any protection". Our rights in this nation are sacrosanct. --Or at least they used to be. We already have a very tough uphill battle ahead in restoring ourselves from the last 8 challenging years.

I can no longer patiently standby while those who are supposed to be helping restore our rights as a nation, are further damaging them. I am urging you to push for a hearing on this matter, bring in Professor Turley, ask him for his best legal rebuttal to the administrations claims showing the American public and the executive branch that checks and balances are back and here to stay. You can count on me for solid support and firm pressure in this matter.

Sincerely,
- (your name) "

If they can all sit there and spend time listenin to us tell our friends about how fat our as$es have gotten during the past year over the phone then they can sure as he!l take the time and read ur pretty copied and pasted letter!

something has to be done or else the boundaries will continue to be crossed!

Tea Party. April 15th. spread the word!
PLEASE GO HERE! : http://www.teapartyday.com/
ahem, theres a transperancy act that you can go visit that shows you exactly where every penny is being spent... GOP annouced parties such as the "teaparty" or should I say teabagging party is run by the people that would have your kind earased off the map. Republicans dispise gay people and your telling people to go support them and their tax parties?
I despise talking polictics... and for the most part do not since it is not conducive to a proper professional image within my industry.

However, I would like to state that I am a small business owner... and Republican. My best friend is Republican as well. He is a gay, 32 year old male - and again, Republican.

"Republicans dispise gay people..."

I agree with alot of your points, Chris, but completely disagree with this statement.
I understand what everyone is getting to here and granted that it is indeed very detrimental to everything the internet and its society of cybersocialism that has come to garner so much information for every different kind of person.

BUT

You forget that everyday billions of bites of information regard child molestation, child pornography, rape, murder, snuf, hackers that chose to play games breaking apart companies that people have put effort and determination for the betterment of society, injustice, pirating, fraud, indentity theft.
The list goes on. Rather than completely foregoing this decision and say nay to everything it incurs, why not curb and change such a choice and use it to our advantage. Perhaps using on registered sex offenders, murderers, pedophiles, theives, fraudsters and much more.

You think this economic crash was because of the guy next door and his carelessness. Micheal Moore is coming out with a movie next year on the melt down and you'd shat your pants knowing what he knows. CEO and executives spending the hard enerned cash you put into banks, investments and insurance contracts to fuel they greed and gluttony.

I don't think you undertsand how grave our world is...
